Review of the i3 London event: Media Innovation Investment – 5th October 2017

i3 hosted the ‘Media Innovation Investment’ event in London, connecting the most relevant networks in the media technology ecosystem in a dynamic and pragmatic day of knowledge sharing and expert advice.

The day opened with presentations from  European consortium technical teams coming to the end of their prototyping phase:  VISUALMEDIA, ImmersiaTV, InVID,  and Cognitus,.  Followed by introductions from six new European consortium projects at inception and planning stages: MARCONI, Content4All, CPN, HRadio, Hyper360, and X5gon.  Project managers and technical leaders shared their experience, insights, and solutions with the specialist media technical audience.

The first key note speech was delivered by Nikos Sarris, expert European Commission dissemination and delivery partner, who shared successful project implementation strategies and practical actionable advice for the coordination and delivery of project outcomes.

The afternoon focused on investment readiness and keynote speeches from media investors, Heikki Rotko and Thierry Baujard, both actively investing in media technologies and focusing on market conditions, investor priorities and competitive advantage.  There was an opportunity for startups to meet and pitch investors one-to-one and to learn from the expertise of experienced technical project leaders.

F6S hosted the event, in their global headquarters in the heart of Hackney Wick, a center for digital and creative technologies.  The event was produced by i3 partners F6S in collaboration with Eurokleis, imec, and T6.
